Thailand-based Onyx Hospitality Group has appointed Peter Dietze as General Manager of its newest project, Amari Addu Maldives, the 273-villa property with one of the longest beaches of any resort in the Maldives.
In his new role, Dietze will oversee all the pre-opening aspects of the hotel which is located on Addu, the Maldives’ southern-most atoll, approximately 480km south of the capital Malé.
With more than 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Dietze began his career in Austria with sales and marketing roles before gaining a wealth of hotel management experience with several luxury properties in neighboring Germany.
Leaving Europe for Asia, Dietze joined the 5-star Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas in Krabi, Thailand, before becoming General Manager and Island Chief of Mirihi Island Resort in the Maldives.
Dietze now joins Amari Addu Maldives, which - besides its unique 4km beach - boasts three natural lagoons and a turtle hatchery.
Recreational facilities include three swimming pools, a range of restaurants and bars, spa and dive centre.
The resort is just a 20-minute speedboat ride from Gan International Airport.
“During the course of 2011, the resort will undergo significant upgrades including enhancements to the beach and villas as well as the addition of numerous sports and children’s facilities,” said Mr. Dietze. Once upgraded, the resort will be re-launched as an Amari, the centrepiece brand of the Onyx portfolio.
