Club Med has launched the first 5T (5 Trident) luxury space in Asia Pacific this month, at its magnificent resort in the Maldives. The 4T (4 Trident) Premium Resort opened its "5T Luxury Space" and the island has taken on a bold and elegant new look after the extensive makeover.

A Club Med Innovation for 2010: The 5T Luxury Space

Club Med's 5T luxury space is designed to cater to the special requirements of very exclusive guests who opt for luxury, personal service, premium amenities, quiet and privacy while still enjoying the best spirit of Club Med and its hallmark friendly atmosphere. This innovative concept was introduced to guests this year in four destinations: Cancun Yucata in Mexico, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic and ski resort, Val d'Isère in France. On Aug 1, 2010, Club Med will introduce an exclusive and dedicated 5T luxury space within the 4-Trident Kani Resort.

Guests enjoy more luxury, intimacy and flexibility at an exclusive and private 5T area along the sea, designed by architect Philippe Villeroux. Luxurious accommodation is provided in 75 exquisite suites on stilts with private balcony and access to the lagoon.

A completely private lounge - Manta Lounge, located at the nexus of the elevated timber walkways above the lagoon is reserved exclusively for 5T guests residing in the magnificent lagoon suites. Its circular shape, opaque roof and minimalist architecture ensure spectacular 360° views of the lagoon from every corner of the lounge. The Maldivian sun is shielded by wide roof overhangs, elegantly made of timber and glass, so they screen and do not block the excellent view.

The Manta Lounge, with a concierge at the entrance, is a heavenly retreat with a host of all-inclusive privileges. Guests can relax in wide daybeds right above the clear turquoise waters or in comfortable catamaran nettings where they can see and interact with the colourful fish beneath. Sink into a deep armchair on the terrace and be lulled by the cool sea breeze or enjoy a glass of champagne (between 6 - 8pm) at the bar in the refreshing comfort of the air-conditioned interior. The Manta Lounge is also furnished with a library of books, newspapers and magazines in both French and English, a working area with computer and free WiFi access, card and board games and an open Bar and Snacking area.

While guests relax, the concierge service can take priority reservations, and even request for their favourite lobster dish at the Kandu Specialty Restaurant, or book a stress-relieving
