Bollywood superstar Salman Khan Saturday inaugurated the Medical Assistance Programme at the Children’s House in Villimale and donated blood at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
Dozens of people gathered outside Children’s House for a glimpse of the Indian actor.
Speaking at the function, Khan expressed his pleasure to be in Maldives and assured his support and assistance in philanthropic efforts.
“My number is in [Indian] High Commission. Call me to participate in these kinds of events. This is only a matter of a two-hour flight,” he said.
Indian High Commissioner DM Mulley stressed that Indian doctors working in Maldives will treat patients free in the programme and thanked Khan for visiting.
After the inaugural function, he went to IGMH and donated blood. Several people were also gathered in and outside the hospital.
Salman Khan also visited Maldives in 2005 for a film shoot.
