Serbian tennis player Janko Tipsarevic and his wife Biljana Tipsarevic got married earlier this month, but will have to wait a little longer before they take their first holiday together as a married couple. Janko is tied by commitments at the ATP tour during the summer, and the two have decided to push their honeymoon to the end of this year. The date of their trip has yet to be revealed, but Janko and Biljana are sure to travel to the Maldives.

The archipelago in the Indian Ocean has a special significance for the two, given they got engaged in the Maldives in mid-November last year. The engagement ceremony and ensuing party were a romantic affair organized at a beach in the sunset, as Biljana received a white gold ring studded with diamonds. Janko and Biljana have spent many a holiday in the Maldives during their five-year relationship, as they evidently view it as the perfect destination for rest. Biljana will be following her husband at the ATP tour, mostly in the USA at this time of year, using every opportunity to attend his matches.

- “Biljana’s support means a lot in every way, it gives me peace on the court and happiness away from it,” Janko Tipsarevic said for Story magazine after the wedding.

The wedding itself was a fairytale one. In the afternoon hours of the beautiful day on 4 July, the two exchanged their vows in the serene atmosphere of club S in Jakovo. The interior was decorated with ten thousand yellow and white roses, orchids, silk, black lace, feathers, etc.

Present at the wedding were Lepa Brena and Slobodan Zivojinovic, Novak Djokovic and his girlfriend Jelena Ristic, Viktor Troicki with his girlfriend Suncica, Mina and Nenad Zimonjic, German tennis player Rainer Schuttler, actress Danica Maksimovic and many others.

The day after the wedding, Janko departed for Split, Croatia, with the rest of the Serbia Davis Cup team.

As the impressions from the wedding party were gathering, Janko and Biljana revealed for Story they were planning children.

- “Parents from the world of tennis don’t have it easy raising kids because of frequent travelling. We often talk about that, but we don’t plan to have children for another couple of years. It’s true, Mina and Nenad Zimonjic are a wonderful example and whenever we see their twins, we are stunned and delighted,” said Biljana.
