MV Aquamarine sets sail to Maldives on her maiden voyage from Kochi

The international luxury liner MV Aquamarine, which is the first cruise ship to homeport in India, was officially flagged off by the Chairman of Cochin Port Trust, Mr N Ramachandran on its first voyage from Kochi yesterday afternoon.

voyage from Kochi yesterday afternoon. With 670 passengers and 350 crew on board, the Aquamarine set sail for the Maldives for what is expected to be a thrilling trip that will take in a barbecue by the pool, a party on board and various shore activities and excursions on the island.

Secretary of Kerala Tourism, Dr Venu said that cruise holidays is a new product and another exceptional holiday experience in Kerala that will excite Indian travelers. The MV Aquamarine is owned by Louis Cruises India, a subsidiary of Louis Cruises - the 5th largest cruise operator in the world.

Kerala Tourism has tied up with the company to market and promote cruise tourism from Kochi.
