MATI does not work for the benefits of tourism sector: TEAM

Tourism Employees Association of Maldives (TEAM) said that Maldivian Association of Tourism Industries (MATI) does not act ethically towards the employee benefits and does but appreciate the workers co-operation.

TEAM says that MATI is acting against the workers right ethics and MATI have proved their priority towards the development of tourism sector, highlighting the less programs run by MATI to develop tourism in Maldives. According to TEAM, MATI does not appreciate works bargaining for their rights, but it is permissible in the constitution of Maldives.

They also said that the strikes in some resorts recently was acceptable in the Act of employment, and commented on the report submitted by labor relations. TEAM says that the report is prepared without “looking on both sides”.

TEAM also gave a remark to MDP some of MDP members who commented in the Peoples Majlis on the Reethi Rah Resort issue.
