2011 Rugby World Cup fever in the Maldives

The 2011 Rugby World Cup taking place in New Zealand is just a day away from kick off and the fever is catching on nearly half a world away in the tropical island destination of the Maldives.

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, one of the two Starwood Resorts in the Maldives, has joined the enthralling fever surrounding the tournament and is set to broadcast live telecasts of the game every day.

Speaking regarding the 2011 Rugby World Cup Fever in the Maldives, Director of Sales & Marketing at Sheraton Maldives Mr. Peter Foreman said that “The Rugby World Cup is an event looked forward to by many and that with passion for their favorite teams running high we want to ensure that our guests feel closer to the action”.

The 2011 Rugby World Cup will be the seventh Rugby World Cup and the 20 teams which will feature this year are Argentina, Australia, England, Fiji, France, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Scotland, South Africa, Tonga, Wales, Canada, Georgia, Japan, Namibia, Romania, Russia, Samoa and United States.

The tournament will take place from 9th September to 11th October 2011.
